When switching from an aluminium-based deodorant to a natural alternative, your body may go through a detox period of 1-3 weeks, as your pores gradually lose the build-up of aluminium. This process can cause some additional sweating and odour which can sometimes lead to the incorrect belief that natural deodorant is ineffective. However, if you persevere, once your body has fully detoxified, the natural deodorant will be able to work effectively, and you will feel the full benefit. 

Although aluminium free deodorants may not negatively affect mammograms, anything that leaves particles in the underarm area could potentially lead to inaccurate results, and so it is better not to apply anything to your underarms directly before an examination.
